Philosophy

We believe the younger generation of the community have a wealth of talent that needs direction and nurturing. Via radio training, we intend to develop the abundance of untapped talent in the field of music deployment and radio outplay. We believe Vision Radio will provide a platform to showcase unsigned talent, up and coming Dj’s and music producers, programme producers and more. We strongly believe everybody has talent, with a little direction and some encouragement anything is possible.

Mission Statement

We aim to deliver high quality radio broadcast service that reflects the diverse needs and aspiration of local residents living in and adjacent  to LB Hammersmith and Fulham to encourage:

1.    Better communication and understanding of local communities through the production and broadcasting of a range of cultural, entertainment and education programmes

2.    Young people to actively pursue a career in radio programming, broadcasting, presenting, production and journalism

•    Social / local affairs, which will include presenters talking with council officials, police officers, civil servants from Job Centre Plus, and legal advisers, in addition to hosting live phone debates.
•    Light entertainment, which will feature shows like poetry, book readings and reviews, live theatre on air.
•    Music - DJs will be encouraged to play music from all backgrounds, including contemporary music from all music genres such as world music, reggae, rap (hip-hop), classic, country. However, the main station emphasis is world music – sourced globally and with special reference to the diverse nationalities that make up the Borough. Opportunities will also be given to upcoming new unsigned local talent.
•    Information –local weather, news, gigs and events guide.

To ensure that the content appeals to all the communities living across the Borough, the Directors intend to have 50:50 music to speech split.
